From my initial phone call to the office with Lucy, meeting with Andrew to go over the work I wanted to be completed and through out the job everything was explained and carried out with the utmost professionalism as planned. I decided to add a few items and it was no problem at all. All of my questions were answered prior to the job and during the job with knowledgeable explanations.  This recommendation/review is about 17 years late! However, being in the same home for this period of time, and seeing what work held up and what work did not, I felt it was appropriate to leave a review now, 17 years later, as there is hardly any work that was done initially on my home that has lasted the test of time...except the electrical work. After 17 years, my electrical work done at my new home at the time by Popkin Electric is one of the very few jobs in which NOTHING has gone wrong. This is unique. Extensive project involving tons of wiring, fixtures and many unique job requests (I am a smart home and automation freak) and nothing has had to be replaced or serviced except for one ceiling fan, which oddly, was not something provided by Popkin, only installed. As a homeowner who paid great attention to all work being performed as my home was built, Popkin's wiring and circuits were a work of art. I regret not taking enough pictures before drywall went up as I want to open walls for my friends and show them the precision and perfection in everything they did, even the stuff nobody would see again. Amazing company, around forever and stellar work that stands the test of time, which I can vouch for at least 17 years!! I find that to be impressive! If you require a job to be done right and perfect the first time, you will be happy selecting Popkin Electric.

Mr.Popkin was courteous, and professional to work with in providing a estimate. I called for an estimate and he showed up the same day in the time frame he stated. After agreed upon contract Popkin electric scheduled the work and stuck to the day and time they stated. The gentleman whom did the work were courteous , informative and professional. Roslyn Estates was first developed in the early 20th Century (circa 1908) by Dean Alvord, who also developed Prospect Park South in Brooklyn and Belle Terre in Port Jefferson. It was nicknamed “The Eden of Long Island” when originally developed, due to the community’s design and setting.

In 1931, residents decided to try incorporating Roslyn Estates as a village, due to the fact that the original deed restrictions were set to expire around that time. Their efforts to incorporate were successful, and the Village of Roslyn Estates was incorporated on June 8, 1931.

In 1974, Mayor Robert D. Zucker attempted to have the boundaries of the Manhasset Park District redrawn to include the village after the district added an additional 260 parking spaces to the commuter parking fields at the Manhasset Long Island Rail Road station. Zucker stated that many Roslyn Estates residents preferred the Manhasset station over the closer Roslyn station due to the fact that service to/from Pennsylvania Station on the Port Washington Branch is direct, whereas a change at Jamaica is required on the Oyster Bay Branch. By having the district boundaries redrawn to include the village, Roslyn Estates residents would have the ability to be guaranteed a parking space at the Manhasset station for commuting to/from Manhattan. Officials from both North Hempstead and the Manhasset Park District, as well as Manhasset residents lamented the idea, given that Roslyn Estates is not part of the Greater Manhasset area, and felt that the needs of Greater Manhasset should be paramount for the Manhasset Park District. The proposal was ultimately denied.
