From my initial phone call to the office with Lucy, meeting with Andrew to go over the work I wanted to be completed and through out the job everything was explained and carried out with the utmost professionalism as planned. I decided to add a few items and it was no problem at all. All of my questions were answered prior to the job and during the job with knowledgeable explanations.  This recommendation/review is about 17 years late! However, being in the same home for this period of time, and seeing what work held up and what work did not, I felt it was appropriate to leave a review now, 17 years later, as there is hardly any work that was done initially on my home that has lasted the test of time...except the electrical work. After 17 years, my electrical work done at my new home at the time by Popkin Electric is one of the very few jobs in which NOTHING has gone wrong. This is unique. Extensive project involving tons of wiring, fixtures and many unique job requests (I am a smart home and automation freak) and nothing has had to be replaced or serviced except for one ceiling fan, which oddly, was not something provided by Popkin, only installed. As a homeowner who paid great attention to all work being performed as my home was built, Popkin's wiring and circuits were a work of art. I regret not taking enough pictures before drywall went up as I want to open walls for my friends and show them the precision and perfection in everything they did, even the stuff nobody would see again. Amazing company, around forever and stellar work that stands the test of time, which I can vouch for at least 17 years!! I find that to be impressive! If you require a job to be done right and perfect the first time, you will be happy selecting Popkin Electric.

Mr.Popkin was courteous, and professional to work with in providing a estimate. I called for an estimate and he showed up the same day in the time frame he stated. After agreed upon contract Popkin electric scheduled the work and stuck to the day and time they stated. The gentleman whom did the work were courteous , informative and professional. Bayville incorporated as a village in 1919 during the incorporated village movement which allowed many larger estate owners on Long Island to establish political and security control over their domains.

Like many other Long Island communities, Bayville was first occupied by the Matinecock Indians and was known as Oak Neck and Pine Island. In 1658, Oyster Bay resident Daniel Whitehead purchased the land from the tribes. By 1745, the land was split among 23 men, who mainly grew asparagus. In 1859, Oak Neck was renamed Bayville and the first Methodist church was constructed west of what is now Merritt Lane. Multiple estates were built in the surrounding areas, and in 1898 a drawbridge was built, connecting Bayville and Mill Neck.

In 1909, the Bayville Casino opened for business, attracting beachgoers, and in 1919, Winslow S. Pierce was elected the first mayor of the Village of Bayville. When the Arlington Hotel, Bayville Casino, and Ritzmore Estate burned to the ground, it prompted the creation of the Bayville Fire Department. Bayville was put on the front page of many newspapers in 1927 when the rum rummer William T. Bell ran ashore at the Oak Point estate. Things were a little slow for a while, but after World War II, the community began to boom. A new church, post office, and school were built in the span of three years, and from 1950 to 1960, the population doubled.
