From my initial phone call to the office with Lucy, meeting with Andrew to go over the work I wanted to be completed and through out the job everything was explained and carried out with the utmost professionalism as planned. 				Popkin Electric is an excellent company.  Andrew serviced several of our residential homes and most recently our commercial building in Hicksville.  He was prompt, courteous, professional as well as fairly priced.  Other electricians couldn't figure out the problem and PSEG was no help.  Andrew not only was able to diagnose the problem, he contacted PSEG directly to get it sorted out.  We highly recommend him.

				This recommendation/review is about 17 years late!  However, being in the same home for this period of time, and seeing what work held up and what work did not, I felt it was appropriate to leave a review now, 17 years later, as there is hardly any work that was done initially on my home that has lasted the test of time...except the electrical work.  After 17 years, my electrical work done at my new home at the time by Popkin Electric is one of the very few jobs in which NOTHING has gone wrong.  This is unique.  Extensive project involving tons of wiring, fixtures and many unique job requests (I am a smart home and automation freak) and nothing has had to be replaced or serviced except for one ceiling fan, which oddly, was not something provided by Popkin, only installed.  As a homeowner who paid great attention to all work being performed as my home was built, Popkin's wiring and circuits were a work of art.  I regret not taking enough pictures before drywall went up as I want to open walls for my friends and show them the precision and perfection in everything they did, even the stuff nobody would see again.  Amazing company, around forever and stellar work that stands the test of time, which I can vouch for at least 17 years!!  I find that to be impressive!  If you require a job to be done right and perfect the first time, you will be happy selecting Popkin Electric.

				Popkin electric was excellent to work with.  From the first phone call for an estimate to the completion of the job I was met with professionalism and excellent work.   Mr.Popkin was courteous, and professional to work with in providing a estimate.   I called for an estimate and he showed up the same day in the time frame he stated.   After agreed upon contract Popkin electric scheduled the work and stuck to the day and time they stated.  The gentleman whom did the work were courteous , informative and professional.   I can’t say enough about this company.  Great experience and excellent workmanship.

About Popkin Electric

Most of the farmland was owned by the Willis family in the 1800s. To avoid being confused with the Willis areas of upstate New York, this area was known as East Williston. The original borders of the area known as East Williston stretched west towards Queens to Herricks Road, north to I.U. Willets Road, south to the Village of Mineola, and east to Bacon Road in Old Westbury.

The coming of the railroad in 1865 stimulated manufacturing in East Williston. The industries that grew as a result of the new train station included brick making, windmill making and carriage making. Henry M. Willis designed and built the popular East Williston Runabout Roadcart. This carriage had two wheels and two seats. Its soft suspension allowed comfortable travel over the rough roads of the time. There was also a feature which allowed the body to be locked to the axle, allowing the carriage to be used on the racetrack. Over 1,000 East Williston Runabout Roadcarts were built by Oakley and Griffin (who purchased the business from Willis in 1889).

The major east-west route, State Route 25B or Hillside Avenue, was formerly called East Williston Avenue, since it connected Queens with East Williston.The East Williston Union Free School District was founded in 1955. In 1985, the residential and commercial core of East Williston collectively known as the East Williston Village Historic District was designated a national historic district and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
